POOL RULES

At the start of every pool season, for the safety and enjoyment of all members, kindly review and remind younger family members and caretakers of the Pool Rules below.

Pool Rules

FOR CLUB MEMBER USE ONLY

The pool is for the exclusive use of club members in good standing. Swim team members are not considered members of the club and should promptly leave the pool facilities once practices and meets have concluded. Members are permitted to bring guests based on the Guest Polices as outlined in the club by-laws (abbreviated in the next section).

GUEST GUIDELINES

  1. No person eligible for Resident Club Membership, but who have not joined the Club or maintained their Membership, shall be accorded Guest Privileges.

  2. All guests must be accompanied by a Club Member at all times.

  3. The Club reserves the right to require members and guests to check-in before using the pool. The Club also may require a guest fee to be paid by Member families.

  4. Guests are limited to a total of 5 visits to the pool per year, regardless of accompanying member.

POOL OPERATING HOURS

Regular pool hours are 9:00 am until 10:00 pm during pool season. Lifeguard hours can be found here. No one shall be in the pool or pool area after 10:00 pm. Loud noise in the Clubhouse shall be avoided after 10:00 pm. No one shall use the Clubhouse or patio after 10:00 pm. without prior consent of the Club Secretary.

SWIMMER AGE LIMITS

When a Lifeguard is on Duty

No children under 10 years of age may be permitted in the pool or pool deck without an adult (15 years and older) present and in supervision. If you do wish to drop off your child, you may do so for children age 10 and older. The parent/adult must sign their child in with the lifeguard and fill out the proper paperwork in the pool binder. Your child will be given a paper bracelet to wear while at the pool so the lifeguard will know that they are parent-less. This way the lifeguard will have better control and know who he/she should be reprimanding (because parents aren't there) or who he/she can ask to leave if behavior is bad. And, as a reminder - the primary function of the lifeguard is to lifeguard, not to discipline.

When a Lifeguard is NOT on Duty

No children under 15 years of age will be allowed in the enclosed pool area unless accompanied by an adult. For clarity, the tennis courts are NOT the pool deck. If you are on the tennis courts, and your child is on the pool deck or in the pool, your child is unaccompanied.

POOL AVAILABILITY DURING SWIM TEAM SEASON

  1. The Pool will be closed at 3 p.m. for home swim meets. The meet schedule can be found here. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope you'll come watch the Hanover West Hurricanes blow away the competition!

  2. During Swim Team practice,  the pool will be open in the shallow-triangle area only, and function as a kiddie-pool for children pre-school aged and younger (age 5 and younger). The times of the practices can be found here. The entire pool is open during the away meets.

FOOD & DRINK

Food and beverages are allowed at the pool, but absolutely NO GLASS containers or drink ware. Please leave that in the clubhouse and use plastic on the pool deck. If you are going to bring food, please keep the clubhouse and pool area clean by cleaning up after yourselves. If you see the garbage cans are full, please empty them. The bins are in the fenced off area beside the clubhouse. The club is run by volunteers and the cleaners do not clean the pool deck area. Treat the club and pool facilities like your own home.

SOLAR POOL COVER - IMPORTANT

Please DO NOT allow young children to be around the pool area by themselves when the pool cover is on. Thank you!
